Oasis offers a range of DC air compressors to suit different applications. Understanding the key differences between models will help you pick the perfect compressor for your setup.
Power Supply Compatibility
The first decision is voltage. The XDM3000 and XDM4000 both come in 12V and 24V variants. Standard passenger vehicles, 4x4s, and most boats run 12V systems. Heavy commercial vehicles, trucks, buses, and military vehicles typically use 24V systems.
Air Output Requirements
The XD3000 is ideal for rapid tyre inflation, air locker operation, and light pneumatic tool use. The XD4000 steps up with sustained airflow capability - it can run a 1/2" impact wrench directly without needing an air tank, making it the choice for commercial and industrial applications.
Duty Cycle Performance
Both the XD3000 and XD4000 feature oil-lubricated piston designs that enable significantly higher duty cycles than oil-free competitors. The XD4000 offers 100% continuous duty at full pressure, while the XD3000 provides 30 minutes of continuous operation at 100 PSI.
Installation Considerations
Both models share the same compact dimensions, making installation straightforward. Key considerations include adequate ventilation for cooling, secure mounting to prevent vibration damage, and splash protection for under-vehicle installations.
Storage Options
While the XD4000 can operate without an air tank for many applications, adding a tank provides stored air for quick bursts and smoother tool operation. Both models work with standard air tanks and fittings.
